The £10k Hot Tub on a £50 Deck
You buy a hot tub and leave it sitting on a basic concrete slab. Here is how we build proper, integrated spa areas so it actually fits the space.
The Box on the Lawn
You drop ten grand on a hot tub. The lads turn up, roll it onto a flat bit of concrete, and leave you to it.
You end up with a giant square block taking over the lawn. It ruins the whole job.
The Rotten Deck Trap
People try and hide the sides by throwing up a cheap softwood deck around it.
Softwood and chemically treated water don't mix. Give it a couple of winters and the timber is rotting, slimy, and warping under the constant damp.
The Built-In Spa
We don't just leave tubs sitting on the grass. We engineer proper spa areas.
We build heavy-duty sub-frames that can actually take the moisture. We use premium, solid-core composite decking that doesn't rot or warp. Then, we sink the tub down into the deck.
It actually looks like it's meant to be there, instead of just sitting on top of the grass.
Privacy and Paving
You also don't want to be sitting in it while the bloke next door is looking straight down at you from his back bedroom.
We build dedicated privacy screens around the tub using horizontal slatted cedar or dark composite timber to block the sightlines. Around the main splash zones, we lay textured, non-slip exterior porcelain.
Do the Groundworks
If you're paying for a proper tub, do the hardscaping to match. Sink it in so it's done right the first time.
